BlackBerry White Pearl by T-Mobile

Less than a week after Apple announces iPhone T-Mobile appears to be trying to stoke the fire of Blackberry popularity. The new product is a white Blackberry Pearl, introduced to T-Mobile networks just today. There is nothing revolutionary about this new Blackberry. It has the same 1.3 megapixel camera, BlackBerry’s push email, HTML browser and the same 240x260 display. Like the it’s darker hued counterpart the White Pearl also pays back MP3s and its Quad-Band GSM/EDGE compatible.

The rumor of this new variation of the Pearl has been floating around for some time. Unlike the kind of pearl found in clams the white variety has been very rare indeed. One person even paid a princely sum on eBay for the rarity. Now, anyone using T-Mobile can have one. Nothing unique about this one I’m afraid except for the white face plate. Oh, and it puts RIM and BlackBerry back into the news just days after being having its market savaged by Steve Jobs and iPhone.

I would not recommend T-Mobile under any circumstances.  Here is my experience.  In December my son died.  He had a blackberry 8700.  I had his phone service cut off because I didn't need two cell phones.  Now, in June when I am finally being able to crawl out from the grief and anguish I felt over the death of my only son, I am told by T-Mobile that, since I waited over 90 days, they cannot request the unlock code and that Blackberry will not give it out to customers.  I want to switch my existing service with Cingular (now AT&T) to my son's Blackberry.  I spent over two hours over the phone with them, and they proposed that I purchase a new phone, but the card in the Blackberry, and in 90 days, they could unlock my Blackberry.  After I placed the order and after I had called the tech people to verify that information and found that it was incorrect, I called back to cancel the order (less than 30 minutes).  I was told that I could not cancel the order, that it had been processed.  One thing I have found is that companies do not apparently make plans for a single person dying.  I was unable to disconnect his electricity because I was not he or his wife (he had none), and now I can't get his phone unlocked because I waited more than 90 days.  Suggestions?
