The Benchmarks are from popular video games graphics engines but also include 3D Marks. If you're interested in buying a video card it's the best way to see exactly how it'll perform in a given gaming situation. The VGA Charts will help you with that age old question – Nvidia or ATI. Answers are tailored to exactly the model graphics card you're looking at and even the 3D graphics engines you're thinking of running on it. The queries you can make on Tom's VGA Charts tool are amazingly granular. Curious about the frame rates achieved from Elder Scrolls: Oblivion at 1024x768 with or without anti-aliasing or with/without Trilinear Filtering? Each separate query can be made with this tool.

Now if only the benchmarks measured the decibel ratings of the fans some of these video cards are running. The X1900XTX is a great graphics accelerator from ATI. But it's got a fan that sounds like a Lear Jet getting ready for takeoff.
