I made two crucial discoveries at the age of thirteen.
Relationship? You decide. But, the former certainly had something to do with Ron Jeremy, star of nearly 2,000 porn films. The actor has become a subtle celebrity in recent years, especially in his capacity on “The Surreal Life.” He’ll now appear in his own, new show called “Techsmart with Ron Jeremy.” It sounds fairly goofy at heart, but Jeremy will be doing his best to review some of the latest gadgets on the market today.
It’s just my own 20-something audience that web site Heavy.com (how appropriate for Jeremy) is shooting for by introducing Techsmart. For those doubting the former porn king’s abilities to review gizmos, a spokesperson for the site remarked, “Obviously, the show will be a comedy but he’s really going to do reviews”.

It’ll work. Why? Because it’s tough to argue that most popular tech items, including the iPod, Nintendo Wii, and even laptop computers, are anything but mainstream. Jeremy’s “everyman” opinion will certainly be entertaining for those who recognize him (and maybe even for those who’ve been sheltered away in Kool-aid-splashed religious retreats).
Techsmart with Ron Jeremy debuts April 5.
