iPhone Line Stand In – iWait for Cash
Craig's list is booming with iWait stand-ins. It seems there is no shortage of enterprising young men ready to stand in line for you if you must be first on your block to get yourself an iPhone. You've got to hand it to them, it's probably the most interesting thing I've heard of in iPhone news in at least a few days. Gizmodo has this interesting picture of the iWait crowd.
Ever since hearing it referred to as Jesus Phone iPhone news has clearly jumped the shark. I completely agree with one commenter on Gizmodo "Baltwade" I have heard quite enough iPhone and Paris Hilton news for at least a very, very long time. Reading the news every day has its disadvantages.
The New York Times has a good article on the iPhone, probably the final word on the topic from people who have actually handled the device. It includes some video which is nice. I have to admit it's a stylish piece and Apple didn't cheap out on Wi-Fi … I'm telling ya, wi-fi is where it's at with a handheld, you get to avoid paying your EDGE provider. In my case I sprung for my first wi-fi handheld the HTC P4000 and I am not the least bit interested in iPhone.
It is sad that the biggest thing in the news today is iPhone when far more weighty issues about on this particular day. Internet Radio is about to be axed in the most cruel and humiliating infringement on consumers since the RIAA was born. More on that later.
