Denon and Circuit City team up for Home Theater Makeovers

Why do you need a new FREE home theater system? If you've got a compelling story you might just win it from MakeShifters.com. It's a joint effort between D&M Holdings (parent company to Denon and Boston Acoustics) and Circuit CIty. Essentially it's a contest where you can upload images or video of your pathetic home theater system to win their Home Theater Makeover.

You can go to MakeShifters.com to see all sorts of video and images from people in serious home entertainement dire straits. Most of the entries are pretty funny especially this one posted below.

I love the "big screen". It is indeed a high resolution setup with surround sound but it's entirely analogue. It's amazing what they've been able to do with audio/video since the begining of time.

Other classic entries includes Rosalie's picture on picture and one gory image of a man suffering from not having a decent home theater system. I must admit many of them are centered around smallish CRT TVs giftwrapped in low end stereo speakers. C'mon people, can't you do more pathetically than that? CRT and low end stereo really wasn't that long ago for man of us who count ourselves audiophiles. Hey, we've all been there. If you ever went to college while trying hard not to rack up student loands maybe you've expereinced it too.
