Unwired View received info on an upcoming HTC device simply called Omni, successor to its Universal. The images are a mock up from Unwired View - the device looks slick and they promise some hot specs to go along. The display is a giant among mobile devices at 4” 800x480 pixel. This is UMPC proportions but this mobile device will run Windows Mobile 6.
In case you get lost inside that giant mobile screen, the Omni includes GPS/A-GPS. And if that screen isn’t big enough it’ll have a TV/VGA output. The high gloss flip face is interesting, giving it the basic form factor of a Nintento DS with a touch screen to boot.
HTC Omni Rumored Specs
- Win Mobile 6
- Samsung SC244X 400 MHz, Qualcomm MSM 7200
- GSM/GPRS
- Wi-fi 802.11 b/g
- WVGA 4” 800x480
- TV and VGA ouputs
- 256 MB ROM w/ 128 MB RAM
- microSD slot
- QWERTY Keyboard
All of this mobile goodness will be packed into a shiny box only 16mm thick. Some will say that HTC only “leaked” Omni information because of the hoopla surrounding the iPhone. Perhaps this will whet the appetite for something just as stylish looking as iPhone running a Win Mobile OS.
