E3 2007: Microsoft Announces Mass Effect's Release Date

Mass Effect is set to finally hit Xbox 360 in November '07. It was during Microsoft's keynote at E3 2007 that Peter Moore Corporate Vice President of Interactive Entertainment announced the month of release. The hotly anticipated game was first demonstrated back in E3 2006 when it generated a mass effect of excitement for the science fiction role player. At this year's E3, 1up.com got a behind the scenes close up scoop on how the game is coming along. Developer BioWare calls Mass Effect Science Fiction role playing perfected. BioWare would know a thing or two about science fiction role playing. After all they were the developers of perhaps the finest example of that genres so far: Star Wars: Knights of the old Republic.

Mass Effect looks to have a beautifully rendered space opera story-line with a deep universe to explore. The game will put you into the middle of a universe being invaded by a machine race. Apparently the villains have a nasty habit of showing up every 50,000 years to commit mass extinctions upon the universe. As Commander Shepard of the SS Normandy you'll be counted upon to prevent the return of this dread scenario. No preseure, really – all in a day's work!

With one big universe to explore, professional voice acting in non-player characters and an opportunity to make life and death moral decisions in a non-linear exploration/role playing game. It sounds like this game will provide light years of fun.
