It may just mean the closest a console can get to PC gaming.

re: Microsoft’s Spring Update Turns Xbox 360 into a PC (almost)

Then let the debate begin!!!

Windows Vista comes with Windows LIVE, a new concept to uniting gamers with a single identity, a single gamertag, a single friends list and a single list of achievements attainable on the Xbox 360 and a Windows-based PC. Games for Windows — LIVE gamers will be able to easily find and play supported titles online with their friends across a Windows computer or an Xbox 360. As a unified service with Xbox LIVE, Games for Windows — LIVE will be available in every country and region supported today by Xbox LIVE.

And get this…The “kick off” is on May 08 2007, and…the first game will be Halo 2!!! Considering you may plug an Xbox 360 wired or wireless, controller (with an extra do-hickey from MS that plugs into the PC to receive the wireless controller’s signals), you will have the choice of a keyboard or a controller!!! Also consider the 360 already has support for ANY USB keyboard, is keyboard support for 360 games far behind???

To read the full article from MS, -> http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/2007/mar07/03-14G4WandXboxLIVEPR.mspx

OXM (Official Xbox Mag) has been “rumoring” that “Phase 3” will include a MS handheld gaming device to further integrate LIVE. Read…You are playing Xbox 360, your wife/mom/GF kicks you out of the room with the console in it. You save to a memory stick, fire up the PC and continue your game, your wife/mom/GF tells you it is time to go, you save again to the memory stick, fire up the handheld and continue again; I see Gaming Nirvana…

Ohm…
