To find out, we tested the iPhone with two different iPod-compatible head units by Alpine and were surprised by the results. This is Steve. Steve is a Mac addict. I purchased the IVA-D300 when it first came out, only to find out that it still abided by redbook audio standards and would only see as many songs on the iPod as can fill the memory of a system typically used to read CDs that typically hold 15 songs. My library (slow to access) pretty much stopped on the letter E for the artists. I was very upset to find that I had paid top dollar just to be a guinea pig for Alpine. Of course, the IVA-D310 works. But I spent the $1800 on the IVA-D300. Never by first gen Alpine products. It goes past this--I purchased the Amp-Link, which was short lived. Very dissappointed with Alpine.</p>
